Q: Does MacuMist really use only 100% pharmaceutical grade ingredients?
A: Yes! All other lower grades (food grade, commercial grade, industrial grade, etc.) have too many impurities, fillers and other components to be safely nano-sized.
Q: How exactly does nano-sizing ingredients work?
A: There are many ways to complete this process. Currently we use the most accurate and time-tested approach: focused ultrasonic equipment. This allows the greatest control of both the energies being inputted from the formula and the final shape of the molecule of interest. The control factors of temperature and exposure time to the sonic waves are critical and must be monitored constantly. Time of processing is calculated and then verified by producing a small bench test to verify the processing time and size parameters. After this step, the encapsulating material is introduced. There are normally 3 lipids creating 3 different layers, although it go up to 7 lipids for specific organ targeting. Since the particle is sized to target before this process, once the molecule reaches the target itself it is at the correct size to be effective. After the final size is official, the formula is then mixed with antibacterial and stabilizers required by the ruling governing body. Lastly, the flavor is added and bottled per our specifications.
Q: Can anything be nano-sized to make it more effective?
A: No. There are lots of minerals, vitamins, herbs, etc that simply cannot either be made pure enough to be nano-sized correctly or safely. There are many reasons for this, but each is specific to the exact molecule in question. Whole botanicals cannot be used for example since most of the plant is unusable for this purpose. Most nano formulations are limited in how much the ultra pure water can hold in the suspension. This is associated with not only Van de Waals forces, but also Zeta potential (which our formula has checked as it is being processed).
